A Kiss Between Deities

A tender love story unfolds as Jupiter and Venus share a kiss in the night sky, captivating scholars and romantics alike.

A Kiss Between Deities

It was evident in the past few days that a tender love story was either beginning or perhaps it was simply a rekindling of an old flame. We saw them getting closer, one reaching out to the other, discreetly, without touching. Then, today, they decided it was time to exchange a kiss in public.

Jupiter and Venus, tender lovers, spent the evening side by side, fully aware that soon they would have to part ways and go their separate paths. Both radiant with a love that transcends centuries, indeed millennia, they accompanied the evening of scholars and romantics, all united by a common curiosity and the beauty of this encounter, while Castor and Pollux sat a short distance away.

Venus made her appearance in the evening, after sunset, wearing a delightful shining dress of magnitude -4, while her Jupiter donned a luminous cloak of magnitude -1.85, and the kiss was exchanged from a distance of just over one and a half degrees, approximately three times the apparent size of the Moon.
